Church Covenant

The Christian life is not lived in isolation. As a family of believers, we hold each other to this Covenant. The Covenant is a statement of how we agree to live together and as a church. New members are asked to consider and uphold these expectations… which are no more than what our Lord expects of us.

Having received Jesus Christ as my savior and Lord; having experienced believer’s baptism by immersion, and having accepted God’s inerrant word alone as the standard by which all matters are to be decided, I being led by the Holy Spirit to unite and identify with this fellowship of believers, commit myself to God and to the other members of this church to faithfully do the following:

I will protect the unity of my church…

  • By acting in love toward other members (1 Cor. 1:10)
  • By refusing to gossip (Eph. 4:29)
  • By following and praying for its leaders (Heb. 13:17)

I will share the responsibility of my church…

  • By praying for its growth (Col. 1:3)
  • By inviting and witnessing to the lost (Lk. 14:23)
  • By loving one another (1 Jn. 4:7, 11)

I will serve the ministry of my church…

  • By discovering my spiritual gifts (1 Pt. 4:10)
  • By being equipped to minister (Eph. 4:11-12)
  • By being a servant (Jn. 13:13-17)

I will support the testimony of my church…

  • By attending faithfully (Heb. 10:24-25)
  • By living a godly and holy life (Tit. 2:11-12)
  • By being faithful in my giving (1 Cor. 16:1-2)
